In Christian countries Easter is celebrated as the religious holiday commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the son of God. But the celebrations of Easter have many customs and legends that have nothing to do with Christianity. Traditions associated with the festival include the Easter rabbit, a symbol of fertility, and colored easter eggs, originally painted with bright colors to represent the sunlight of spring, and used in Easter-egg rolling contests or given as gifts. This evening after we had dinner, we went to a furniture store. They have a wide selection of different brands, including Powell furniture. How is your Easter holiday?

Happy Saint Patrick's Day
- Saint Patrick's Day, colloquially Paddy's Day or St. Patty's Day, is the feast day which annually celebrates Saint Patrick (373-493), the patron saint of Ireland, on March 17, the day on which Saint Patrick died.
- It is the Irish national holiday and one of the public holidays in the Republic of Ireland (a bank holiday in Northern Ireland); the overseas territory of Montserrat; and the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. In the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, and rest of Canada it is widely celebrated, although not an official holiday.
- Saint Patrick's Day is celebrated worldwide by Irish people and increasingly by many of non-Irish descent (usually in the US and Ireland), hence the phrase, "Everyone wants to be Irish on St. Patrick's Day." Celebrations are generally themed around all things green and Irish; both Christians and non-Christians celebrate the secular version of the holiday by wearing Green, eating Irish food, imbibing Irish drink, and attending parades.
My blog's major color is Green. I will wear Green tomorrow. We might eat Irish food too. I bet Irish restaurants will have good business the whole weekend :-)

Happy Chinese Lantern Festival!
- Today is Lantern Festival, a Chinese festival celebrated on the fifteenth day of the first month in the lunar year in the Chinese calendar. The Chinese Lantern Festival is the last day of the traditional Chinese New Year celebration period.
- During the Lantern Festival, children go out at night carrying bright lanterns which are now often made in shapes of animals. The brightest lanterns were symbolic of good luck and hope. Those who do not carry lanterns often enjoy watching informal lantern parades.
- Other popular activities at this festival include eating Tang Yuan, a sweet glutinous rice dumpling served in a sugary soup, and guessing lantern riddles, often messages of love.
